Some Background…

Hello, my name is Megan and this blog all started because one day in December 2018 I watched the movie Julie & Julia on Netflix while failing to write a paper for grad school.  Soon after, I had the great, although completely unoriginal, idea to be like Julie and cook through an entire cookbook in one year! However, I thought it would be much more fun to have a partner in this endeavor.  That’s when I decided to reach out to Erin, my former roommate and dear friend.  Erin was hesitant but interested when I told her of my idea and she agreed to partake in this adventure! We chose the cookbook Naturally Vegetarian Recipes & Stories from my Italian Family Farm by Valentia Solfrini. We chose this book in particular because I tend to eat a more plant based diet, although not 100%, and Erin is interested in cooking more vegetarian meals at home. Naturally Vegetarian seems like the perfect book for us to enjoy and cook through. Currently, I’m waiting on Erin’s copy of the book to arrive to her home. Once it does, we will begin our adventure! I’m not exactly sure how frequently we’ll post or the overall format we’ll follow- but honestly the blog is just a way for us to record our thoughts and experiences while cooking and eating!
